About the Academy
What do you want to learn today?
The Goals for the postgraduate training academy are are to focus on predominantly on refreshing & building assessment skills. While there seems to be no shortage of treatment continuing education, CE’s on diagnostics, use of self in assessment, and functional skills related to testing are not as common. So, it’s time to brush off those dusty, rusty assessment skills and feel more confident in your assessment competencies!
The Target Audience for the Academy is individuals and/or groups who have formal graduate education in the fundamentals of psychological assessment. This includes doctoral trained psychologists, school psychologists, school education specialists, psychiatrists, neurologists, and medical doctors with mental health interest or speciality, mental health nursing professionals, and allied health therapists. Other Master’s level counselors, Bachelor’s level and testing technicians may be able to participate on a case by case basis, providing there has been formal training in some minimum combination of classes that focus on research design, test design, statistics, psychopathology/diagnostics, ethics, and diversity.
Advisory Committee
The Academy engages an advisory committee to help shape the direction of the training programs. Because the Academy was started with a single instructor, the advisory committee was recruited for the purposes of auditing workshop content to ensure compliance with sponsorship standards and be available for grievance remediation. Dr. Kaity Jeanty and Dr. Krista Mancarella are current members of the Academy advisory committee and volunteer intermediaries for grievance remediation. They also both serve to audit workshops and workshop materials to ensure fidelity to consideration of ideas from those of diverse backgrounds and maintaining inclusive learning environments.
